Kajol: Come on... we'll sit on our special bench.

Shahrukh: Our special bench? Where life is easier? Where yesterday and tomorrow don't matter?

Kajol: Where time comes to a standstill *sits down* Come.

Shahrukh: *sits down next to Kajol and rests his head on her shoulders*

Kajol:*strokes her hand through his hair* What's wrong, Shahrukh?

Shahrukh: When you're with me it feels like nothing is wrong. Everything here, with you feels right.

Kajol: Something's troubling since we started shooting today ... and something tells me I don't have to ask for what that is. 

Shahrukh: We've always been good at reading each others feelings in that manner...*sighs, except when it comes to our feelings for each other.* I want to ask but then hesitate...*takes Kajol's hand in his intertwining his with hers.*

Kajol: *tries not to let the tears in her eyes fall*

Shahrukh: We’re friends, right?

Kajol: NO! No we are NOT! You're NOT MY FRIEND! You're something more! And I don't know what that something more is!

Shahrukh: You're more to me too...but then I can't...and it’s so frustrating…

Kajol: You're not the only one finding this frustrating you know! It’s even harder for me...because I thought we had a chance! I thought... *sigh* Just ask... why did you get engaged to Ajay? Ask me Shahrukh...

Shahrukh: Like you know my question, I feel like I know your answer...I want to say that I'm happy for you...but I can't. Why did you get engaged to Ajay?

Kajol: Not like I had a choice... I mean, you're going to be a father dammit! And I'm not going to be the person to ruin your family like that!

Shahrukh: Maybe you should marry him...After all who am I to say anything... I want you to be happy...but it hurts that I can't be the one to give you the happiness...He can give you the happiness you need and deserve...I can't.

Kajol: How would you know who can give me happiness? How do you know you're not the one to give me the happiness I need?

Shahrukh: I don't know. All I know is I know I'm only capable of giving pain... that I can't give you the happiness you deserve. You deserve someone who can commit to you without any restrictions. You deserve everything, and I can give you nothing.

Kajol: Or I deserve someone who knows what I feel about love... I thought you knew me, Shahrukh... I thought you knew how I feel about love and everything associated with it...turns out you know nothing about how I feel...

Shahrukh: Kajol...please...*takes her hand in his and kisses it*

I...*his eyes tear up* you mean so much to me *places her hand on his heart and

closes his eyes*

Kajol: *pulls Shahrukh closer to her and wraps her arms around him*

(tearfully) I can't take this anymore Shahrukh... the sweet nothings... your stares when we are shooting. I can't concentrate on anything anymore....because everywhere I go, it's like you're there, watching me! 

Shahrukh: *running his hand through her hair pulls her closer

tightening their embrace* I'm sorry if I've ever hurt you...but I'm so happy that I ever met you...your presence in my life, has taught me so much...the things I feel around you...alive, happy...

Kajol: *closes her eyes and lets tears fall* This has to stop, Shahrukh...

we can't keep doing this. It hurts too much to know you belong to someone else. And I can't take the pain any longer... You don't know how dangerous our relationship is, Shahrukh.

Shahrukh: *sighs and pulls apart* I know...*takes her face in his hands

and kisses her eyes and tears* My intention was never to give you any pain...I'm not going to stop you from marrying Ajay if he can take away the pain I've given you. 

Kajol: No, no... you don't understand Shahrukh... please... only you can

stop this pain. Only you know how. *runs her hand lightly down Shahrukh's face* You have to do something, Shahrukh... 

Shahrukh: What do you want me to do?

Kajol: Just love me... and tell me so. Just once Shahrukh, say that you

love me. *closes her eyes and lowers her head* 

Shahrukh: *Places his hand on her chin and gently lifts her face* I

love you. *leans in and kisses her right cheek* I love you. *leans and kisses her left cheek* I love you so much. *leans in and lightly touches his lips to hers*

Kajol: *whispers as she brushes her lips against his* That's it... that's

all I needed to hear. Nothing more. *pulls herself to Shahrukh and embraces him

again* That's all I need to know. That memory is strong enough to keep me going

forever, Shahrukh.  

Shahrukh: *kisses the top of her forehead* Despite what life throws at

us never doubt that I love you, because no one can take you from my heart and my soul. *presses her close to him* I just want to hold you and kiss you forever.

Kajol: I just wish... *trails off* 

Shahrukh: You wish what?

Kajol: I just wish it didn't have to be so hard... I wish that you didn't

meet Gauri. I wish we had met earlier. I wish fate didn't play such cruel games with us. I wish that Gauri *is about to say "wasn't pregnant but catches her tongue just in time* (sighs) 

Shahrukh: I wish too.

Karan: *peeps around the corner* (whispers guiltily) Am I interrupting a

moment here? 

Kajol: *jumps* Karan! What are you doing here? *hurriedly wipes away her

tears* 

Karan: Um... sorry for interrupting. Both of your "special someones" are

here to see you.  

Kajol: *looks at Karan blankly* WHO exactly are you talking about? *I only

have one special someone...* 

Karan: Ajay and Gauri of course. Coincidentally, they'd met for lunch and

decided to come meet both of you together. 

Shahrukh: Of course *shoot what is she doing here?* Uh we'll be right over

*squeezes Kajol's hand gently before letting go*

Kajol: *exchanges a horrific look with Shahrukh* I didn't just here that

did I? My future husband went to LUNCH with your PREGNANT wife. Why do I think this is REALLY fishy? 

Shahrukh: *shrugs* Let's check it out. Do you think they know?

Kajol: I don’t know... I'm scared. Oi Karan! 

Karan: *looks at Kajol* Hmm? 

Kajol: Your lips are sealed right? *smiles at her friend* 

Karan" *grins* Worry not. Your secrets safe with me. 

Shahrukh: Let's go. or they might begin to wonder. *sighs*

Kajol: *sighs* Let's go. *follows Shahrukh out but stops before the door that will lead them outside to their spouses* Shahrukh, we have to at least pretend that we’re happy to see them. Yes?  

Shahrukh: Yeah. I’ll try. 

Kajol: As will I. 

Gauri: *seeing Shahrukh* How are you doing sweetheart? What happened to you? Is this part of your costume? You look so shabby. *walks over to Shahrukh, and attempts to straighten his hair and jacket.*

Shahrukh: *forcing a smile* It's okay Gauri. I need to freshen up anyways. 

Gauri: Oh ok. We have to go remember tonight. *spotting Kajol* Oh hey Kajol. You won't believe who I ran into while having lunch? Ajay and I thought that since I'm coming to see Shahrukh it would be a great surprise for you if Ajay came to. Isn't it such a lovely surprise?

Kajol: Yeah... what a coincidence! looks at Ajay Thanks for coming. *turns to Gauri* Um, I heard you were expecting. Congratulations. 

Gauri: Oh Thanks. I'm so happy, that we're finally having a kid. I've been so busy putting up a nursery and everything. Anyways I'm blabbering, I think congratulations are in order in regards to your engagement to Ajay. He's so reserved but I got it out of him. Congratulations to both of you. Right Shahrukh?

Shahrukh: *biting his inner lip* Yes. Congratulations. *walks up to Ajay and shakes his hand*

Kajol: Thanks. *takes Shahrukh's hand and shakes it lightly* Uh, so how the baby shopping coming on? 

Shahrukh: Good…I guess...

Kajol: *nervously* So what brings you two here? 

Gauri: I told you we were trying to surprise you guys. Kajol you seem a bit distracted, are you ok? Must be the presence of someone special *winks at Kajol*...Oh look Shahrukh...She's blushing...I think we should leave Ajay and Kajol alone. They make such a cute couple. Don't you think so, Shahrukh? *loops her arm with Shahrukh*

Shahrukh: Uh...*looks at Kajol* I guess...

Kajol: Um, no, no... it’s nothing like that! I’m just a little flustered with all the shooting we’ve done today. Um, anyway, since you guys ARE here… I have an idea! Why don't we go on a double date? I mean, I've heard so much about you, Gauri! And I would like to get to know you a little. *What in heavens am I saying?* 

Shahrukh: What?

Gauri: That's sounds great. Ajay? What do you think? *goes towards Ajay* You've been so quiet, What do you think?

Ajay: Okay, I guess it sounds fine. Um....don't you need to ask Karan? He is after all the director. 

Shahrukh: *Maybe Karan will say no. Who am I kidding? That karela will definitely say yes and in fact insist on coming along.* Uh. We are done shooting for today.

Gauri: *breaking the awkward silence* So what are we waiting for? Shahrukh first of all go change. You look terrible, and I don't want to be seen in public with you, if you're looking like that. Kajol I suppose you're going to change too?

Shahrukh: I think she looks fine as is.

Kajol: Yeah... um, listen... I think I'll have to ask Karan about the next shooting session. Did you want to come along, Shahrukh? 

Shahrukh: Yeah I'll walk with you, besides the changing rooms are in the same direction.

Kajol: (walks) AHH! Karan! What are you doing behind the door? 

Karan: Just listening to how much you two love your respective spouses

Shahrukh: I suppose you didn't have anything better to do with your time?

Kajol: *sighs* Karan... shut up. It's really not funny. We're going on a double date. So you need to tell us. When's the next shoot? 

Karan: I'm just sorry this had to happen to my two best friends!

Kajol: *closes her eyes and says slowly in a warning tone* Karan... 

Karan: Okay, okay! Next shoot is on Saturday. We'll be shooting.... the gazebo scene. Great timing isn't it?
